Single Storey Extensions

Single-storey extensions rank as the most popular alteration homeowners make to their properties. Whether you envision an open-plan living kitchen dining area or perhaps a new study, utility or bedroom, a single-storey extension can often fulfil these desires. There's considerable flexibility in single-storey extensions, usually falling under permitted development. However, if opting for a wraparound extension, a householder planning application would be necessary.

Two Storey Extensions

Two-storey extensions offer a remarkable opportunity to enhance both the appearance and functionality of your property. Whether you aim to expand the existing box room or create an entirely new master bedroom suite, the possibilities are extensive. The size of the extension is typically influenced by the requirement to maintain right to light for any neighbouring properties. Most councils prefer a subservient extension which is set down slightly in ridge height, usually this would be achieved by a slight step between the new and old.

Loft Conversions

Extending your loft space can be a relatively simple procedure. Typically, a loft conversion falls under permitted development, unless your property is listed or located within a conservation area. In such cases, while still feasible, a more sensitive approach is required through a householder planning application. This might involve adopting a traditional dormer style and using materials that are sympathetic towards the building or locality.

Expanding your porch doesn't just improve the functionality of your property's entrance; it also enhances its visual appeal. Porch extensions can usually be carried out through permitted development if they stay within 3 square meters externally. Anything larger would need to be submitted for a householder planning application.

House Remodels

When you have ample space, but the property's layout isn't quite right, remodeling is an excellent option to maximise its potential and create the desired functionality. Our comprehensive design solutions are geared towards achieving just that. As long as there are minimal changes to the exterior, most of the work can carried out through a building control. For additions like windows and doors, providing you are not within a conservation area, we can utilise permitted development rights where necessary by obtaining a Lawful Development Certificate.
